Memoryhouse- Glasshouse Williamsburg,Brooklyn NYC June 11 Twee, girly and kinda artsy – On a balmy night at Brookly's Glasshouse, Canada's Memoryhouse make the boys swoon and the girls depressed. All in sync and looking nice they pay homage to everyone from The Cocteau Twins to Everything But The Girl And Beyond. A melancholic gaggle of folks who started as a duo and is now five strong (and growing probably as their mum's would like) Despite their roots harking back a bit, some LA DJ buffoon even coined the term "ethereal dreampop," as applicable to Memoryhouse which really couldn't be more gag inducing. Still think beyond this apparent genius new thriving sub genre they've got the chops. Look out for "lately," "To The Lighthouse," and Caregiver," which were all flawless on the night. Craig Stephens |
